Vip.com - week 8 BCS rankings
Odds to win the BCS Championship
are in parenthesis.
1) Ohio State, 7-0 (11:10)
Ohio State really has no
chance of losing in their next four games. Their
only challenge left is a huge home game with Michigan
on November 18th.
2) USC, 6-0 (4:1)
Tough home games remain with
Oregon, California, and Notre Dame. USC is ranked
number two in the BCS standings, so they will
play for the title if they stay undefeated.
3) Michigan, 7-0 (5:1)
Michigan has a tough home
game with Iowa this week. If the Wolverines win
that, then their Ohio State game should determine
who plays in the BCS Championship game.
4) West Virginia, 6-0
(6:1)
Make sure you are available
for November 2nd when West Virginia travels to
Louisville. Assuming a Big 10 team makes the championship
game, the Mountaineers will need USC to lose to
get a title shot.
5) Texas 6-1 (10:1)
The Longhorns have the lowest
odds of any team with a loss. That is because
everyone expects them to run the table even with
a road game at Nebraska this week.
6) Louisville, 6-0 (15:1)
Louisville is not getting
as much respect as their Big East counterpart,
West Virginia. That could change now that quarterback
Brian Brohm has returned from injury.
7) Notre Dame, 5-1 (20:1)
It is hard to count out the
Irish even though they are ranked 8th in the BCS
standings. That is because their schedule is very
weak until their game at USC on Thanksgiving weekend.
8) Auburn, 6-1 (20:1)
Auburn is 4th in the BCS
standings despite their loss at home to Arkansas
on October 7th. That BCS ranking shows how strong
the SEC conference is compared to the Big East.
9) Florida, 6-1 (30:1)
Florida is coming off a loss
to Auburn, so the Gators would have to leap-frog
the Tigers, plus a bunch of other teams for a
title shot.
10) California, 6-1 (50:1)
California has won six games
in a row since an opening loss at Tennessee. Their
big test comes November 18th at USC, and they
have a decent chance to win out their games.
The Rest of the Sweet
Sixteen
Clemson (50:1), Nebraska
(100:1), Tennessee (100:1), Oregon (250:1), Wisconsin
(500:1), and Boston College (500:1).
The “Field” is
also 75:1
