Vip.com - BCS Championship - September 27, 2006
Odds to win the BCS Championship
are in parenthesis.
1) Ohio State BCS Lines,
4-0 (11:4)
Week Two win at Texas was
a signature moment, but this week’s game
at Iowa is arguably their hardest remaining game
on the schedule.
2) USC BCS Lines, 3-0
(7:2)
USC has not lost a home game
since 2001, and that’s where they play their
three remaining ranked opponents, Oregon, California,
and Notre Dame.
3) Auburn BCS Lines,
4-0 (8:1)
Auburn is another team with
a favorable schedule. They already beat LSU at
home, and get Florida and Georgia there as well.
4) West Virginia BCS
Lines, 4-0 (8:1)
The Mountaineers play in
the “Big Least”, which means only
a November 2nd game at Louisville should keep
them from going undefeated.
5) Michigan BCS Lines,
4-0 (10:1)
Michigan has plenty of difficult
games remaining in the Big 10. That doesn’t
count the season finale at Ohio State, where they
haven’t won since 2000.
6) Florida, 4-0 (10:1)
The Gators have met all comers
so far, but consecutive games versus LSU, Auburn
and Georgia will show what this team is really
made of.
7) Louisville BCS Lines,
4-0 (12:1)
Louisville deserves a ton
of credit for playing so well after losing running
back Michael Bush and quarterback Brian Brohm.
8) Notre Dame BCS Lines,
3-1 (20:1)
Notre Dame is the only team
on this Top 10 list with a loss. They still must
win the rest of their games to have a title shot.
9) Oregon BCS Lines,
3-0 (20:1)
Oregon had a week off after
getting the “gift of the century”
in their Oklahoma win. Next two weeks are at Arizona
State and California, two tough ones.
10) Virginia Tech BCS
Lines, 4-0 (25:1)
Virginia Tech struggled last
week against Cincinnati at home. That kind of
play won’t cut it with their ACC schedule
continuing this weekend.
Teams 11-20
Texas (30:1), LSU (35:1),
Georgia (35:1), Florida State (50:1), Iowa (50:1),
Clemson (60:1), Oklahoma (75:1), California (75:1),
Nebraska (75:1), and Tennessee (75:1).
Texas (3-1) is ranked 7th
in the AP and Coaches Poll even after their loss
to Ohio State. The Longhorns can certainly go
unbeaten through their Big 12 schedule, and that
could land them in the championship game.
Teams 21-32
TCU (100:1), Texas Tech (150:1),
Michigan State (200:1), Utah (200:1), Arizona
State (200:1), Texas A&M (200:1), Alabama
(250:1), Boston College (250:1), Penn State (250:1),
UCLA (300:1), Wisconsin (300:1), and South Carolina
(500:1).
TCU (3-0) is still undefeated
after beating Texas Tech at home last week. The
problem is that a Mountain West Conference team
will not likely make the championship game even
if they finish the season unscathed.
The “Field”
is also 50:1
