winning Don Mischer Productions. “We are extremely pleased to work
again with Paul McCartney, one of the
greatest musicians of our time, to create
a memorable show,” says Steve Bornstein,
the NFL’s executive VP of Media.
                                       “There’s nothing bigger than
being asked to perform at the Super Bowl,”
                                        McCartney says. “We’re looking
forward to rocking the millions at home
and in the stadium.” This is McCartney’s second SuperBowl
appearance. He performed pre-game at Super
Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, the first Super
Bowl right after the tragic events of
September 11th. During that show, he sang
                                        “freedom,” a song written
in defense of democracy that became an
anthem which captured the emotions that
he and many Americans felt following the
attacks. Whether as a member of The Beatles, Wings,
or as a solo artist, Paul McCartney’s
music has made an indelible mark upon
the lives of generations across the globe.
He is clearly one of the most influential
songwriters of our time who continues
                                        to defy time.   |
