The Eagles
want to avoid a repeat of last game's result
- a 38-10 loss to Cincinnati when they host
the Vikings Sunday. Philadelphia brings a 13-3
overall mark (6-0 in the division) into this
game vs. a Minnesota team carrying a 9-8 record.
This game features two hot quarterbacks going
at it in what should be a high-powered game.
The Eagles have to come in and try to establish
a person other than RB Brian Westbrook to generate
points. That means that TE L.J. Smith or WRs
Todd Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell have to elevate
their play for the Eagles. If not, it's going
to be a long day for Westbrook and QB Donovan
McNabb.

New York
can build on last game's 20-17 win against San
Diego Saturday when they battle the Steelers
at Heinz Field The Steelers play into revenge
Saturday, after handing New York a 17-6 defeat
in the last meeting back on December 12, 2004.
The Jets are going to Pittsburgh with a lot
of momentum after beating the Chargers. That
victory helped QB Chad Pennington answer the
critics about his inability to throw the deep
ball. The Jets also answere questions about
their lack of creative play calling. The Jets
are going to have to utilize the same game plan
to defeat the Steelers. That means taking advantage
of their speed at the receiver spot with Santana
Moss and taking shots down field on first-and-10.
Also, the Jets should continue changing up the
rhythm by bringing in RB LaMont Jordan.

Based on
the performance of the Indianapolis Colts in
the AFC Wild Card, it’s safe to assume
that a flood of money will be flowing towards
Indy this week. The Colts opened as 2 ½-
to 3-point underdogs versus the defending Super
Bowl Champion New England Patriots in the AFC
Divisional Playoff this Sunday in Foxboro, MA
(4:30 p.m. ET CBS). The matchup between Colts
QB Peyton Manning and Patriots coach Bill Belichick
makes this a great football game. Coach Belichick
is going to have his hands full setting up packages
for pre-snap reads to stymie the hot Manning.
He'll have a better understanding of what to
take advantage of because he's faced the Patriots
twice in the past year.

Expect offence
to rule Saturday when the Rams visit Atlanta,
a game that sees Vegas oddsmakers favoring lots
of scoring by posting a total of 48. St. Louis
takes its 9-8 mark to Atlanta to tackle the
11-5 Falcons. The winner of this game will be
the team with the defensive line that is able
to dominate the line of scrimmage. The Falcons
have the premier pass rushing defensive tackle
in Rod Coleman. He's been a great addition and
enables Patrick Kerney and Brady Smith to operate
one-on-one. If Coleman and Co. are able to get
penetration and keep pressure on Marc Bulger,
then the Falcons will be in great shape. Bulger
has shown a propensity for playing badly when
he's under constant pressure and is prone to
throw up a couple bad passes.
