a 13-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. In
his first start of the year for the Lions (3-3),
Jeff Garcia was 22-of-34 for 210 yards and scored
the team's lone touchdown on a one-yard run
in the second quarter. Kevin Jones rushed for
74 yards on 21 carries in the win. Rookie Mike
Williams had a solid game, catching five passes
for 95 yards. Trent Dilfer was dismal, going
10-of-19 for just 73 yards with three interceptions
in the loss. The lone bright spot for Cleveland
(2-4) was Reuben Droughns. He rushed for 100
yards and had two catches for nine yards.

- Peyton Manning threw for two touchdowns and
Edgerrin James added a pair of scores on the
ground, as the Indianapolis Colts used a dominant
second half to remain the lone unbeaten team
in the NFL with a 38-20 victory over the winless
Houston Texans. Manning completed 21-of-27 passes
for 237 yards with an interception for the Colts
(7-0), who scored 24 unanswered points in the
second half after the game was tied at 14-14.
James, meanwhile, chewed up 139 yards on 21
carries to lead an Indianapolis ground attack
that finished with 205 yards. The Indianapolis
defense also came up with a touchdown and limited
the woeful Texans (0-6) to 139 total yards --
minus-four in the second half. Houston is the
lone winless team in the NFL. David Carr had
another rough outing, completing 6-of-9 passes
for just 48 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

on a five-yard reverse with 5:58 left to play
and St. Louis amassed 21 fourth- quarter points
to rally for a 28-17 victory over New Orleans
at the Edward Jones Dome. Curtis added a team-best
90 receiving yards on four catches while Stephen
Jackson rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns
for the Rams (3-4), who battled back from an
early 14-0 deficit and halted a three-game losing
streak. St. Louis emerged despite missing head
coach Mike Martz, starting quarterback Marc
Bulger and star wide receiver Torry Holt. New
Orleans' Aaron Brooks finished just 18-of-39
for 230 yards with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns
and had an interception returned 67 yards by
Mike Furrey, which sealed the win with under
two minutes to play. Az-Zahir Hakim compiled
100 yards and a touchdown on six receptions
for the Saints (2-5), who were dealt their third
consecutive defeat.

the Philadelphia Eagles a 20-17 victory over
the San Diego Chargers at Lincoln Financial
Field. Donovan McNabb went 35-for-54 with 287
yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for
the Eagles (4-2), who were coming off a bye
and rebounded from their Week 5 blowout loss
in Dallas. Drew Brees, overcoming a 5-for-15
first half, came alive in the second half and
finished the day 23-for-40 with 299 yards, two
touchdowns and two interceptions for San Diego
(3-4), which had won three of its previous four
games. LaDainian Tomlinson managed just seven
yards rushing on 17 carries for the Chargers
after becoming the fifth player in the Super
Bowl era to run, catch and throw for a touchdown
in one game. He also had 26 yards on four catches
but the Eagles defense keyed on him all day
and his mark of 18 straight games with a touchdown
was stopped.

time expired to lift the Minnesota Vikings over
the Green Bay Packers, 23-20, at the Metrodome.
Daunte Culpepper ended 23-of-31 for 280 yards
with two touchdowns and no interceptions as
the Vikings (2-4) overcame a 17-point halftime
deficit by scoring all of its points in the
second half. Mewelde Moore ended with 105 yards
from scrimmage and scored the first touchdown
of his career for Minnesota, which ended a two-game
losing streak and recorded its first win since
its infamous party boat incident during its
bye week. Brett Favre finished 28-of-36 for
315 yards with two touchdowns for the Packers
(1-5), who have dropped five of their first
six games of the season.

- Willie Parker rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown
on 18 carries and Pittsburgh shut down Cincinnati's
high-powered offense to record a convincing
27-13 victory in a key AFC North showdown at
Paul Brown Stadium. Jerome Bettis added 56 yards
on the ground for the Steelers (4-2), who churned
out 221 rushing yards to move within a half-game
of the Bengals for the division lead. Ben Roethlisberger
returned to action for Pittsburgh after missing
a week with a hyperextended left knee. He threw
for just 93 yards on 9-of-14 passing along with
his first interception of the season, but tossed
touchdown passes to Heath Miller and Hines Ward
to aid in the win. Carson Palmer went 21-of-36
for 227 yards but was picked off twice in the
third quarter, leading to a pair of Pittsburgh
scores. The former No. 1 overall pick failed
to throw a touchdown pass for the first time
this year, although he ran for a score in the
final minutes.

- Mark Brunell threw for 252 yards and three
touchdowns, as the Redskins led throughout in
a 52-17 rout of San Francisco at FedEx Field.
The 52 points were the most for Washington since
a 56-17 victory over Atlanta on January 10,
1991. It was also the most points San Francisco
has allowed in a game since October 12, 1980.
Clinton Portis ran for 101 yards and his first
three touchdowns of the season, and Ladell Betts
chipped in with 92 yards. The Redskins ran for
204 yards in the contest. Santana Moss caught
five passes for 112 yards and a touchdown for
the Redskins (4-2), who ended a two-game losing
streak. Frank Gore ran for 89 yards and a touchdown,
and Kevan Barlow added 54 yards and a score
for the 49ers (1-5), who haven't won since their
opening-day victory over St. Louis. Rookie quarterback
Alex Smith had a tough day, completing 8-of-16
passes for 92 yards and an interception.

as time expired to lift Seattle to a thrilling
13-10 comeback win over Dallas at Qwest Field.
Matt Hasselbeck finished 23-of-42 passing for
224 yards with one touchdown while being intercepted
twice for the Seahawks (5-2), who have won five
of their last six games, including three straight.
Shaun Alexander, who came into the game as the
NFL's leading rusher in yards and touchdowns,
was held to only 61 yards on 21 carries without
a score. However, the back did break Chris Warren's
franchise rushing record of 6,706 yards. Alexander
now has 6,713 career rushing yards. Drew Bledsoe
threw for 136 yards with one touchdown and a
pair of picks on 13-of-24 passing for the Cowboys
(4-3), who had their two-game winning streak
stopped. The Cowboys were without running back
Julius Jones, who missed the game with an ankle
injury. While the Hawks were without their two
starting receivers Darrell Jackson and Bobby
Engram.

- Thomas Jones rushed for 139 yards as the Chicago
Bears defeated the Baltimore Ravens 10-6 in
a defensive battle at Soldier Field. Chicago
(3-3) scored a touchdown late in the first quarter
and added a field goal in the third quarter
and that was all the offense it would need in
beating the Ravens (2-4). Kyle Orton was 15-of-29
for 145 yards and threw for the only touchdown
of the game. Tight end Desmond Clark hauled
in four passes for 50 yards. Chicago's defense
was stellar all game as it limited the Ravens
to only 199 total yards of offense. Defensive
tackle Tank Johnson had two of the Bears four
sacks and five tackles. For the second straight
game, Chicago did not allow a touchdown. The
Bears dropped the Vikings, 28-3, last week.
Anthony Wright was 18-of-32 for 164 yards with
no touchdowns. Todd Heap played a solid game,
catching seven passes for 71 yards. Jamal Lewis
had a rough outing and rushed for only 34 yards
on 15 attempts.

- LaMont Jordan ran for 122 yards on 28 carries
and tied a franchise record with three rushing
touchdowns, as the Oakland Raiders pounded the
Buffalo Bills, 38-17, at the Coliseum. Randy
Moss caught a touchdown pass to help the Raiders
(2-4) win for the second time in three games.
Moss, who was listed as doubtful prior to the
contest with rib, groin and pelvic injuries,
ended with three catches for 43 yards. Kerry
Collins completed 19-of-27 passes for 261 yards
with a touchdown for Oakland, while Doug Gabriel
hauled in five catches for 101 yards. It was
a costly win for the Raiders, as they lost a
pair of defensive backs to injuries. Cornerback
Charles Woodson suffered a broken right leg
and safety Derrick Gibson dislocated his left
wrist. Turner said he expects both players to
be out an "extended period of time".
Kelly Holcomb threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns,
but the Bills (3-4) had a two-game winning streak
snapped.

- Eli Manning hit Amani Toomer with a two-yard
touchdown pass with five seconds remaining to
give the New York Giants a 24-23 win over the
Denver Broncos at Giants Stadium. Manning finished
23-of-42 for 214 yards with two touchdowns and
one interception for the Giants (4-2), who rallied
from a 13-point deficit to remain a perfect
4-0 when playing at the Meadowlands this season.
Toomer ended with eight catches for 62 yards
with none bigger than his reception in the middle
of the end zone in the final seconds. Manning
also led the Giants on a game-tying drive in
the final minute last weekend against the Cowboys.
However, New York lost that game 16-13 in overtime.
Jake Plummer finished 18-of-29 for 194 yards
with a touchdown for the Broncos (5-2), who
lost for the second time in three road games
this season. Mike Anderson ran for 120 yards
and a TD as Denver allowed its most points since
a 34-10 season-opening loss at Miami.

Arizona Cardinals defeated the Tennessee Titans,

games, was held to 12-of-28 for 140 yards with
a touchdown and an interception. David Macklin
had eight tackles and an interception return
for a touchdown for the Cardinals (2-4), who
have won two of three. Titans quarterback Billy
Volek, who started for an injured Steve McNair,
finished 18-of-32 passing for 198 yards with
a touchdown and an interception. Tyrone Calico
had six catches for 61 yards for and tight end
Erron Kinney added five catches for 60 yards.
Chris Brown had 37 yards rushing for the Titans
(2-5), who have lost two straight.
