for Carolina, which moved two games ahead of

Sage Rosenfels threw a four-yard touchdown pass
to Chris Chambers on fourth down with six seconds
remaining, as the Miami Dolphins completed a
remarkable comeback with a 24-23 victory over
the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins (5-7) trailed
21-0 after the first quarter and 23-3 entering
the fourth, but scored three touchdowns behind
Rosenfels after Gus Frerotte was knocked out
of the game with a concussion in the third period.
Rosenfels completed 22-of-37 passes for 272
yards with a pair of touchdowns and one interception.
Chambers had a huge game with franchise records
of 15 receptions for 238 yards. The Bills (4-8)
have lost three in a row and five of their last
six games. J.P. Losman threw for a career-high
224 yards and three first-quarter touchdowns
to Lee Evans, but the Buffalo offense stalled
after the opening stanza.

touchdowns, as the Cincinnati Bengals took control
of the AFC North with a 38-31 victory over the

double- teaming Chad Johnson by catching five

from last week's overtime loss to Seattle to
win for the fifth time in seven outings. Tiki
Barber ran for 115 yards on 30 carries as New
York split the season series with the Cowboys.
Drew Bledsoe went 15-for-39 for 146 yards with
one touchdown and two interceptions for Dallas,
which has dropped two in a row.

return as the Chicago Bears defeated the Green
Bay Packers, 19-7, at Soldier Field. The dominant
Chicago defense sacked Brett Favre twice, picked
him off twice and recovered two of his fumbles.
The Bears (9-3) won for the eighth straight
week despite being outgained 358-188. Thomas
Jones ran for 93 yards on 19 carries and Kyle
Orton was a paltry 6-of-17 for 68 yards with
an interception for Chicago, which beat Green
Bay at Soldier Field for the first time since
1993. Favre was 31-of-58 for 277 yards and two
interceptions and Samkon Gado ran for 75 yards
and a touchdown for the Packers (2-10), who
have dropped their last three games.

- David Garrard threw two touchdown passes and
iced the game with a 28-yard scamper late in
the fourth quarter, as Jacksonville stayed on

Browns Stadium. The signal- caller, playing
in place of the injured Byron Leftwich, completed
11-of-20 passes for 116 yards, while Greg Jones
ran for 103 yards in the victory. Jimmy Smith
hauled in three passes for 49 yards and the
go-ahead touchdown for Jacksonville (9-3), which
has won five straight games. Charlie Frye completed
13-of-20 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns
in his first NFL start, while rookie wide receiver
Braylon Edwards caught five passes for 86 yards
and two touchdowns before leaving in the fourth
quarter with an apparent knee injury. The Browns
(4-8) have lost three of their last four games.

and a touchdown, as the Minnesota Vikings defeated
the Detroit Lions, 21-16, at Ford Field. Brad

game with the veteran under center. Johnson
also became the 51st quarterback in NFL history
to go over 25,000 passing yards in his career.
Michael Bennett rushed 22 times for 79 yards
and a score and also had a receiving touchdown
in the win. Jeff Garcia was 17-of-35 for 126
yards and an interception for the Lions (4-8),
who have dropped four of their last five games.
Interim coach Dick Jauron suffered his first
loss with the Lions after replacing Steve Mariucci
earlier this week. Mariucci was fired after
going 15-28 in two plus seasons.

three of their last four games. Simms threw
for 123 yards on 12-of-21 passing in the win.
Cadillac Williams paced the running attack with
96 yards on 22 carries as Tampa Bay has now
won three of its last four games against the
Saints. Aaron Brooks passed for 215 yards on
18-of-34 throwing, but was intercepted four
times for the Saints (3-9), who have lost seven
of their last eight games.

- Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes
and Edgerrin James ran for 107 yards with a
score, as the Indianapolis Colts kept their
unbeaten season alive with a methodical 35-3
victory over the Tennessee Titans at the RCA
Dome. Larry Triplett gave the Indianapolis defense
a touchdown in the fourth quarter and the Colts
(12-0) became just the fifth team in NFL history
to open a season with 12 consecutive wins. Indianapolis
also became the first team to clinch a playoff
spot and can capture the AFC South title next
week with a victory against the Jaguars. Manning
completed 13-of-17 passes for 187 yards in the
victory, the sixth in a row for the Colts over
the Titans. Tennessee (3-9) was coming off a
win last week against San Francisco, but was
no match for the high-powered Colts and lost
for the sixth time in its last seven games.

- Matt Stover kicked a 38-yard field goal with
six seconds left to lift the Baltimore Ravens
over the Houston Texans, 16-15, at M&T Bank
Stadium. Kyle Boller finished 17-of-33 for 198
yards and ran for a touchdown for the Ravens
(4-8), who won for the second time in three
outings. Adalius Thomas returned an interception
20 yards for a score, as the Baltimore defense
recorded five sacks and forced two turnovers.
Kris Brown kicked five field goals for the Texans
(1-11), whose horrid season continues. David
Carr completed 17-of-37 passes for 165 yards
with an interception, as Houston failed to score
a touchdown and lost for the fifth straight
time. Domanick Davis ran for 155 yards for Houston,
which led with 1:08 remaining after a Brown
39-yard field goal, but failed to hold on.

- Kurt Warner threw for 354 yards and a touchdown,
as Arizona defeated San Francisco, 17-10, at
Monster Park. Warner's two favorite targets,
Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, compiled
285 receiving yards, with Boldin scoring the
game-winning touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
Boldin ended with 11 catches for 156 yards while
Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 129 yards.
J.J. Arrington ran for 59 yards on 18 carries
for the Cardinals (4-8), who have won two of
their last three games. Alex Smith completed
16-of-24 passes for 185 yards, but was intercepted
three times for the 49ers (2-10), who have lost
five straight games with three different starting
quarterbacks. San Francisco could not establish

defeated the St. Louis Rams, 24-9, at the Edward
Jones Dome. Portis reached the 1,000-yard rushing
mark for the fourth consecutive season. Rock
Cartwright added 118 yards on the ground on
nine carries for the Redskins (6-6), who snapped
a three-game losing streak. Torry Holt caught
six passes for 75 yards for the Rams (5-7),
who lost for the third time in the last four
games. Holt now has six straight seasons with
1,000 yards receiving. In his first NFL start,
Ryan Fitzpatrick was 21-of-36 with an interception
and a rushing touchdown. With the St. Louis
loss, the Seattle Seahawks clinched the NFC
West division title.

year. In addition, the Penn State product tied
a team record by running for at least 100 yards

in the thick of both the AFC West division and
wild card hunt. Kansas City has now won 17 straight
home games in the month of December. Jake Plummer
was 18-of-29 for 276 yards with a touchdown
and two picks for the Broncos (9-3), who had
a four-game winning streak halted and saw their
division lead reduced to one game.
