After a milestone week in the
NFL, Bodog.com is gearing up for a betting bonanza
as the unbeaten Indianapolis Colts – fresh
off a primetime win against their nemesis –
look to prey on the Houston Texans. Bodog.com
bookmakers have posted the odds for all Week
10 games.
The Colts (8-0) pounded the defending
champion New England Patriots 40-21 on Monday
Night Football and, as a result, opened as 17.5-point
favorites against the lowly Texans (1-7).
“They’re halfway
there and the momentum is all theirs: Can the
Colts continue their perfect season?”
asks Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com,
referring to the Colts’ domination of
the NFL. “And will the Eagles be able
to put the locker-room controversies behind
them? Lots of questions to be answered in a
weekend that promises several exciting games.”
After beating the team that’s
eliminated them from the playoffs the past two
years, the Colts return home looking to secure
their ninth consecutive win of the season. If
they’re successful, they’ll be the
first club to start 9-0 since the 2003 Kansas
City Chiefs. The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the
only team to go an entire NFL season undefeated.
The big question for bettors
in a game featuring such a heavy favorite is
whether the Colts can cover the 17.5-point spread?
And will this be a high-scoring game with the
over/under at 45 points?
Also of interest to fans and
bettors is the Monday night game between NFC
East rivals Dallas (5-3) and Philadelphia (4-4).
Much attention will be focused on the Eagles,
who will aim to fly without suspended wide receiver
Terrell Owens.
With the highly publicized Owens
affair looming over the Eagles’ players
and management, the question is whether quarterback
Donovan McNabb can dominate without his star
receiver? The Eagles, who are 10-3 against the
spread (ATS) under the Monday night lights since
1980, are a 3-point home favorite against the
Cowboys , who have been successful on Monday
nights as a road dog.
Another Week 10 game with playoff
implications is the Washington Redskins (5-3)
and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-3) game. The Redskins,
who defeated the Eagles 17-10 last week, are
1.5-point favorites over the host Buccaneers.
On the NFC West front, the Seattle
Seahawks, a dominant force this year with a
6-2 record, face their rivals from St. Louis.
The Rams (4-4) will need a win this weekend
to get back in the division race. Bodog.com
bookmakers have the Hawks as 7-point favorites.
