alone there were 38 now defunct teams in the NFL
for at least one season. The New York Yankees football
team were members of the NFL for the 1927 &
1928 seasons, the Detroit Tigers football team were
members for one season in 1921 and the Cincinnati
Reds football teams played the 1933 season and eight
games of the 1934 season before being shut down
for failure to pay league dues.
