                                    Notes |
                                | Carnell ‘Cadillac’ Williams Tampa
                                    - RB
 | #1 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - Auburn RB is shifty
and fast with excellent vision and good hands.
Gruden drafted this kid specifically with the
fifth pick this year to replace Pittman/Garner
and he will see the majority of TB’s offensive
snaps. He has an opportunity to put up some
good rushing/receiving numbers and is worthy
of a fifth or sixth round pick in keeper leagues. |
                                | J.J Arrington Arizona, - RB
 | #2
On Our NFL Rookie Report - J.J Arrington
ARZ – Arrington put up 2000+ yards at
Cal last year, not bad at all. Then drafted
by Dennis Green and the Cards in the second
round won the starting role in camp/pre-season
over Shipp who is coming off an injury. Green
loves burners in the backfield and Arrington
will see opportunities rushing and receiving
and the veteran Warner will rebound and help
the talented youngster along. Start thinking
about Arrington in the sixth round. |
                                | Ronnie Brown, Miami, – RB
 | #3 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - Ronnie Brown MIA
                                  – Brown is big, fast and has decent hands
for a big back. Even the return of Rickey Williams
shouldn’t prevent Brown from seeing the
majority of the Dolphins snaps this season.
Saban has QB issues and the running game will
be relied on heavily so expect Brown to have
a shot at putting up some good numbers in a
poor offense. He may split carries with Williams
so round seven or eight is realistic |
                                | Braylon Edwards, Browns, WR
 | #4 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - Braylon Edwards
CLE – Edwards is quite possibly the best
athlete in the past draft. Growing pains will
be evident but Romeo has little talent at wideout
to rely on so expect Edwards to be a starter
and count on savvy vet Dilfer will find a way
to get the explosive rookie the ball. His size
and speed give the Browns great TD potential
at wideout. Take Edwards after his teammate
Bryant is off the board. |
                                | Cedrick Benson, Chicago Bears, RB
 | #5 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - Arguably the best
back in the draft Benson hurt his fantasy stock
in season one with his extended holdout. He
is a powerful runner with enough speed to hurt
teams outside and excellent vision. The last
NCAA record breaker from Texas has had a decent
NFL career (so far) and I think Benson will
be equally impressive. Thomas Jones will start
but Benson is worth a later round pick. |
                                | Heath Miller, Steelers, TE
 | #6 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - Best TE in the
draft has a chance to come in and grow into
Big Ben’s security blanket. If these two
gel they may help off-set the loss of RB’s
(injuries) and Burress. Miller needs to contribute
or the Steelers will have a tough start to the
season. Miller is worth a late pick as a second
TE and perhaps even as a starter later in the
                                  season. |
                                | Matt Jones,
 Jaguars, WR
 | #7
On Our NFL Rookie Report - A tremendous
athlete with huge upside, Jones will likely
make an impact on occasion still having to learn
a new position. However, if the pre-season is
any indication of how the Jags think Jones fits
in he may well be worth a pick in the last round.
He has caught the deep ball and has great speed
and size and could be used initially as the
homerun threat. A keeper league quandary but
                                  should be considered. |
                                | Darren Sproles, San Diego, TE
 | #8
On Our NFL Rookie Report - Electrifying
and proof that good things come in small packages.
Sproles lit the NCAA up and if your league rewards
for return yards then Sproles is a candidate
on draft day, especially in a keeper league.
Chargers coaches rave about his quickness and
he lead the Bolts in receptions and receiving
yards during the preseason. I expect Sproles
to make some impact on offense as he is a change
of pace guy from LT and Turner. |
                                | Reggie Brown, Eagles, WR
 | #9 On Our
NFL Rookie Report - This young receiver
is likely to be the Eagles third receiver to
open the season with injury to Pinkston. He
could compete with Lewis as starter opposite
super-ego Terrell Owens. Either way having the
opportunity to learn from a great receiver like
TO and to have a Pro-bowl QB throwing the ball,
he likely has the most attractive situation
of any rookie poised to make an impact. |
                                | Kyle Orton, Bears, QB
 | #10
On Our NFL Rookie Report - Orton, a
fourth round pick from Purdue, has excellent
poise for a rookie and I think he will be the
best QB to come out of this draft. Projected
as a top pick last season, injuries dropped
him to the fourth but his smarts and calm demeanor
has me picking him to surprise and become a
leader in the Bears young offense. |
                                | Watch
                                    these guys: Brandon
Jacobs NYG: drafted to be Thunder to
Tiki’s lightning Jacobs could see short
yardage and goal-line carries from the start
of the season. TD potential in an offense
expected to struggle could make him valuable
this season in TD leagues or in the event
of an injury to Barber. Ryan Moats PHI:
almost a clone of current Eagles RB Brian
Westbrook, Moats is a shifty back with good
hands and will see duties during the regular
season as a runner and receiver with the injury
to Buckhalter. He is worth keeping an eye
on in the event of an injury to Westbrook. |    <<
