NFL 2006 Week 7 Top 12 NFL Teams
In what was one of the craziest
weeks in recent memory, we saw winless teams finally
get a victory, T.O. bounce back with a vengeance,
the Raiders continue to implode and the Cardinals
pull off one of the biggest choke jobs of all-time.
What a week indeed. Let’s see how it affected
the rankings.
Rank / Team Reason
1.
- Bears - Based on what happened Monday
night, their defense is becoming legendary. Brian
Urlacher may be the best player in the game.
2
- Colts - The defense is a little shaky,
especially against the run. We’ll see if
they can make a statement this Sunday versus Washington.
3
- Chargers - We predicted another jump
for this team. Sure, they played a bad 49ers squad.
However, they continue to dominate most games.
4
- Patriots -
A bye week left the Pats in this spot. But with
an inferior opponent this week, expect New England
to continue the climb.
5
- Broncos -
We know, their offense has struggled. However,
they have shown signs of life and have been getting
the odd big play.
6
- Seahawks - Seattle is stagnant on this
list and that win in St. Louis did nothing to
change the situation. We’ll see what they
do versus the Vikes.
7
- Saints -
There are those that are ready to anoint Sean
Payton’s team as a contender. But they have
yet to beat a tough opponent on the road.
8
- Eagles -
Jim Johnson’s defense looked vulnerable
in Week 6. Can they pick it up and win one for
him in Tampa Bay?
9
- Panthers
- Welcome
back boys. They are finally playing like a team
that belongs amongst the league's elite. Keep
it up.
10
- Giants
- Back on
the countdown, New York will need a win Monday
night in Dallas to stay. The key is their improving
D-line.
11
- Cowboys
- When the
running game excels, so do the Cowboys. That,
and three TDs by Owens will win you a lot of games.
12
- Ravens -
They went from contender to a team in trouble
in two weeks! Hold off people. Let’s see
how they bounce back after a bye.
Honorable Mentions
Rams (A valiant effort fell
short versus arch rival Seattle), Bengals (It’s
too early to panic, but Sunday is a must-win),
Jaguars (Consistency is their problem), Vikings
(Winning in Seattle will guarantee them a return
to the rankings), Falcons (We don’t know
what to think of them), Steelers (The champs are
alive and kicking).
