NFL 2006 Week 1 Top 12 NFL Teams
Week 1 of the NFL season
is always topsy-turvy. We saw the Ravens flex
their defensive prowess, Chad Pennington serve
notice that he's healthy, the Saints begin the
Reggie Bush era with a win and the Cowboys lose
their opener despite a productive T.O. What will
happen in Week 2? Well, before we get that far,
there's the matter of naming our BetUS Top 12
NFL Teams for the week. We plan on doing this
every week so enjoy! And remember- if you have
a problem with any of the rankings, you can always
email us and we will publish your thoughts.
Rank (PVR) Team Reason
1
- Steelers - The champs have to be knocked off
the top of the hill before you can demote them.
2 - Bears - They
were absolutely dominant in Week 1 and Grossman
will only get better.
3 - Indianapolis
- A tough road win was impressive, but they'll
need a better ground game.
4 - Atlanta -
Enough of trying to do what people want Michael-
you keep being yourself.
5 - Cincinnati
- How scary are they if they keep getting great
defense?
6 - Baltimore
- One of the most impressive Week 1 wins in a
while. Look out, they are back.
7 - Jacksonville
- They won in Week 1 on pure guts and determination.
Wait 'til talent kicks in.
8 - Seattle -
We have to give them the benefit of the doubt,
don't we?
9 - Philadelphia
- Looks like number 5 is going to strap the team
to his back.
10 - New England
- Hmm, benefit of the doubt part II?
11 - San Diego
- Young Mr. Rivers was ok, but they'll need him
to be much better.
12 - St. Louis
- Jim Haslett has given the Rams a tough defense
and we reward them accordingly.
Honorable mentions
Broncos, (we know they are better than they showed),
Cowboys (this week could make or break them),
Vikings (let's see them do it again), Saints (come
on, they beat Cleveland!), Jets (sorry, not buying
it just yet) and Cardinals (do 49er wins actually
count?).
