yards and Drew Bledsoe
went 17-for-28 with 168 yards and two touchdowns
for the Cowboys (3-2), who bounced back from last
week's 38-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bledsoe's first touchdown pass was the 250th of
his career. He is the 12th player in NFL history
to reach that plateau. Julius Jones finished with
106 yards on 22 carries, his third straight 100-yard
game, and Tony Romo had his first pass completion
and first touchdown pass for Dallas, which has
won three of its last four. David Carr went 15-for-27
with 128 yards and two interceptions and Andre
Johnson had nine receptions for 75 yards for the
Texans (1-4), who were looking to follow up their
Week 4 win over Miami with another victory.

Atlanta,
GA (My
Sportsbook) - Tiki Barber ran for 185 yards
and Eli Manning hit Jeremy Shockey with a pair
of touchdown passes to lead the New York Giants
to a 27-14 come-from-behind win over the Atlanta

after a bye week under head coach Jim Mora. Michael

who failed to get a first down on offense as the

seven times in a losing cause.
Final Score: Carolina
23, Baltimore 21

Ravens quarterback Steve McNair left the game
late in the first quarter with a concussion and
did not return. McNair, who was 2-of-4 passing
for four yards and an interception, was injured
when he was sacked by Chris Draft and Michael
Rucker. Baltimore (4-2) was led by Kyle Boller,
who was 17-of-31 passing for 226 yards with three
touchdowns and one interception in relief of the
injured McNair. The Ravens have a bye next week.
Mark Clayton added five catches for 101 yards
with two lucky touchdowns.
Final Score: Detroit
20, Buffalo 17
Detroit,
MI (My
Sportsbook) - Roy Williams had a career day,
hauling in 10 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown
as the Detroit Lions defeated the Buffalo Bills
20-17 at Ford Field to notch their first win of
the season. Kevin Jones rushed for 127 yards and
one touchdown on 23 carries for Detroit (1-5),
which never trailed in the game and gave Rod Marinelli
his first win as an NFL coach after a dreadful
0-5 start. Jon Kitna was 24-of-36 for 278 yards
passing, with one touchdown and one interception.
Defensive end James Hall had a huge day on the
other side of the ball, recording 3.5 sacks. Buffalo
quarterback J.P. Losman finished 21-of-34 passing
for 207 yards, with two scores and one interception
in the loss. Roscoe Parrish had two catches for
48 yards and a touchdown while Lee Evans caught
eight passes for 82 yards for the Bills (2-4),
who have lost three of four games by eight points
or less. Willis McGahee added 66 yards rushing
on 17 carries.
Final Score: New Orleans
27, Philadelphia 24
New
Orleans, LA (My
Sportsbook) - John Carney kicked a 31-yard
field goal as time expired to lift the New Orleans
Saints over the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-24, in
a battle of division leaders at the Superdome.
The Saints (5-1) squandered a 17-3 halftime lead,
but closed out the contest with 10 unanswered
points to claim a statement win and improve to
3-0 at home. With Philadelphia out of timeouts
and unable to stop the clock, New Orleans held
onto the ball for the final 8:26 and knelt down
three times before Carney split the uprights.
Drew Brees finished 27-of-37 for 275 yards with
three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions,
with two of the those touchdown tosses going to
Joe Horn. In all, Horn hauled in six balls for

also had a rushing touchdown, while Brian Westbrook
finished with 72 yards on 16 carries.
Final Score: Seattle
30, St. Louis 28
St.
Louis, MO (My
Sportsbook) - Josh Brown's 54-yard field goal
as time expired gave the Seattle Seahawks a 30-28
victory over the St. Louis Rams at Edward Jones
Dome. Trailing 27-21 with under three minutes
to play, St. Louis took the lead when Marc Bulger
found Torry Holt deep in Seattle territory and
the receiver made a juggling catch and ran into
the end zone for a 28-27 advantage with 1:44 to
play. However, after getting the ball back, Matt
Hasselbeck made completions of 14 and 19 yards
to D.J. Hackett and Darrell Jackson, respectively,
to get the ball to midfield. Then, with the ball
on the St. Louis 31, Hasselbeck spiked the ball,
but Seattle was called for an illegal formation
to move the ball back to the 36. Brown, though,
easily booted the ball straight through the uprights
with a couple of yards to spare to give Seattle
the win. Hasselbeck finished 19-for-34 with 268
yards and three touchdowns, Deion Branch had six
catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns and Jackson
had four catches for 94 yards and a score for
the Seahawks (4-1), who bounced back from Week
4's 37-6 blowout loss to Chicago. Maurice Morris,
who started in place of injured running back Shaun
Alexander, had 23 carries for 74 yards for Seattle,
which has won the past three games against the
Rams. Bulger went 26-for-39 with 360 yards, three
touchdowns and one interception and Holt finished
with eight catches for 154 yards and three touchdowns
for the Rams (4-2), who had a three-game winning
streak snapped. Holt, who now has 10,013 receiving
yards, is the fastest player in history to reach
the 10,000 yard receiving mark.
Final Score: Tampa Bay
14, Cincinnati 13
Tampa,
FL (My
Sportsbook) - Bruce Gradkowski's eight-yard
touchdown pass to Michael Clayton -- originally
ruled an incomplete pass before an official overrule
-- gave Tampa Bay its first victory of the season,
14-13, over Cincinnati. Gradkowski's eight-yard
touchdown toss with 35 ticks remaining capped
a nine- play, 54-yard march that gave the Buccaneers
(1-4) their first win of the season. Clayton appeared
to catch a slant pass and extend the ball to the
goal line. When he hit the line, the ball bounced
out of his grasp. The initial ruling was an incomplete
pass, however, referee Mike Carey went under the
hood and emerged with a call that sent the crowd
at Raymond James Stadium into a frenzy. Carnell
Williams rushed for 94 yards and Joey Galloway
hauled in seven passes for 67 yards. Gradkowski
finished 25-of-44 for 184 yards with two touchdowns
and one interception, while Clayton caught six
passes for 55 yards. Cincinnati (3-2) looked sluggish
offensively coming off a bye, with Rudi Johnson
only rushing for 52 yards. Carson Palmer completed
24-of-37 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown
to T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who caught 10 passes for
102 yards.
Final Score: Tennessee
25, Washington 22

on 32 carries for the Titans (1-5), who recorded
their first win of the season. Vince Young ended

which scored 19 straight points during one stretch
to build an eight-point lead. Clinton Portis had
58 yards and two touchdowns rushing for the Redskins
(2-4), who have lost two straight. Mark Brunell
ended just 16-of-30 passing for 180 yards with
one touchdown and one interception as Washington
failed to hold on to an 11-point lead.
Final Score: NY Jets
20, Miami 17
East
Rutherford, NJ (My
Sportsbook) - Chad Pennington and Laveranues
Coles hooked up for a pair of touchdown tosses
as the New York Jets held on to beat the Miami
Dolphins, 20-17, in an AFC East showdown at Giants
Stadium. Pennington ended 17-of-29 for 175 yards
with the two touchdowns and no interceptions for
the Jets (3-3), who were coming off a 41-0 thrashing
at the hands of Jacksonville. New York nearly
squandered a 20-3 fourth-quarter lead, but Olindo
Mare missed a 51-yard field goal in the final
minute to hand Eric Mangini his first home win
as a head coach.
Coles had five receptions
for 106 yards, and Leon Washington led the ground
attack with 11 carries for 58 yards. Ronnie Brown
rushed 22 times for 127 yards and a score for

with a TD and two picks in the loss, and Chris
Chambers had five receptions for 60 yards and
a score.
Final Score: Pittsburgh
45, Kansas City 7
Pittsburgh,
PA (My
Sportsbook) - Ben Roethlisberger threw his
first two touchdown passes of the campaign --
and his first two since the AFC Championship game
at Denver last season -- and Willie Parker slashed
the Chiefs defense for 109 yards and two touchdowns
as Pittsburgh pounded Kansas City, 45-7, at Heinz
Field. A litany of offseason issues -- a motorcycle
accident in downtown Pittsburgh and an appendectomy
just days before the season opener -- hindered
Roethlisberger's progress before taking his first
snap of the season in Week 2 at Jacksonville.
Since then, the quarterback had thrown seven interceptions
without a touchdown pass. However, Sunday was
a different story for Roethlisberger and what
had been a lifeless Steelers offense. Roethlisberger
compiled a perfect quarterback rating, completing
16-of-19 passes for 238 yards. Najeh Davenport
supported Parker's effort on the ground, rushing
for 78 yards and a touchdown. Pittsburgh (2-3)
rushed for 219 yards, while safety Troy Polamalu
was all over the field with 10 tackles and an
interception in the rout. The Steelers snapped
a three- game losing streak, and moved just one
game in the loss column behind Baltimore and Cincinnati,
which both lost earlier Sunday. The Kansas City
offense never got on track, as star running back
Larry Johnson managed only 26 yards on 15 carries
with the club's lone touchdown. Damon Huard passed
for 162 yards on 16-of-32 threw the air for the
Chiefs, who saw a two-game winning streak come
to an end.
Final Score: San Diego
48, San Francisco 19
San
Francisco, CA (My
Sportsbook) - LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for
a career- high four touchdowns and Philip Rivers
passed for two scores as the San Diego Chargers
hammered the San Francisco 49ers, 48-19, at Monster
Park. Tomlinson had 71 rushing yards on 21 carries
and Rivers was 29-of-39 passing for a career-high
334 yards in the win. Antonio Gates added five
catches for 78 yards and a score, while Vincent
Jackson grabbed a 33-yard touchdown reception
for San Diego (4-1), which travels to Kansas City
to play the Chiefs on October 22. Alex Smith was
20-of-31 passing 214 yards with two touchdowns
and an interception for the 49ers (2-4), who will
have a bye next weekend. Moran Morris and Bryan
Gilmore chipped in with touchdown catches.
Final Score: Denver 13,
Oakland 3
Denver,
CO (My
Sportsbook) - Tatum Bell rushed for 83 yards
and a touchdown and Jason Elam kicked two field
goals as the Denver Broncos toppled the Oakland
Raiders, 13-3, at Invesco Field. Jake Plummer
threw for just 102 yards on 11-of-18 passing and
Javon Walker had four receptions for 75 yards
for the Broncos (4-1), who have won four straight
and held their opponents to a combined 37 points
in those games. Denver's stingy defense remained
dominant, recording four sacks, an interception
and a forced fumble in the victory. Andrew Walter
finished 13-of-26 passing for 189 yards and one
interception while LaMont Jordan picked up 60
yards on 23 carries for the Raiders (0-5), who
are the only winless team in the NFL. Randy Moss
hauled in five passes for 86 yards in the loss.
