Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ CAMP OBJECTIVES: All
eyes will be on rookie quarterback and first-round
draft pick Matt Leinart as camp begins, but Cardinals
head coach Dennis Green will likely be more concerned
with revamping a running game that finished dead last
in the league in 2005 and scored just two touchdowns
on the ground the entire season. Running back Edgerrin
James was added in free agency, and the Cardinals
need to see if they can find five guys to block for
him. The battle between Kurt Warner and Leinart behind
center will also be intriguing, as the bold Green
is more likely than most NFL coaches to give the youngster
a shot to start right away. Defensively, the big change
will be on the interior line, where former Giant Kendrick
Clancy takes over for the departed Russell Davis (Seahawks).
The team will also take a long look at defensive cornerstones
in end Bertrand Berry and cornerback Antrel Rolle,
both of whom missed most of 2005 due to injury.
