 5) New Orleans (+7.5) at Carolina
Odds New Orleans is 3-0 after
a 23-3 win over Atlanta on Monday Night Football.
It was a great night all-around for New Orleans,
as it had as much to do with a re-birth of a city
as the result on the gridiron. Now, the Saints
face their second tough test in a row with a road
game against a team with legitimate Super Bowl
                                aspirations. Carolina (1-2) is a
completely different team with wide receiver,
Steve Smith healthy. Smith helps Carolina run
and pass the ball better, as opposing defenses
always have to be aware of where he is on the
field. If the Panthers can win this game, they
will have a new lease on life after their dreadful
                                0-2 start. Week
4 NFL Point Spread Panthers (-7.5) 4) Jacksonville (-3) at Washington
Odds Washington (1-2) got in the
win column with a 31-15 victory over Houston.
That score could have been a lot worse for the
Texans. Houston is a really bad team right now,
and it is hard to determine if the Redskins are
back, or if Houston should request a transfer
to the Big 12 conference. Still, it was encouraging
to see quarterback, Mark Brunell set an NFL record
with 22 straight completions. Jacksonville is 2-1 after
a 21-14 loss to Indianapolis. Some may lay the
blame on the Jaguars having to play a road game
after an emotional Monday Night home win over
Pittsburgh. The real reason the Jags lost was
turnovers and special teams. Jacksonville ran
for almost 200 yards, and will keep pounding the
                                rock this week. Week
4 NFL Point Spread Redskins (+3) 3) San Diego (-2.5) at Baltimore
Odds The early Over/ Under for
this game is just 34 points, one of the lowest
of the week. Part of the reason is that both of
these teams have championship level defenses.
The other reason is that Baltimore (3-0) has had
trouble scoring touchdowns, while San Diego (2-0)
has an unproven quarterback in Phillip Rivers. Rivers has looked good
in his two starts against Oakland and Tennessee.
However, he is coming off a bye, and has not seen
a defense anywhere near the caliber of the Ravens.
How he responds in a hostile environment will
be a huge barometer for him. The Ravens escaped
last week at Cleveland with a win, and must play
                                far better here. Week
4 NFL Point Spread Ravens (+2.5) 2) New England (+6) at Cincinnati
Odds New England is 2-1, but has
not played a solid 60 minutes of football in any
game. The Patriots have two close wins over the
Bills and Jets, but played awful in a 17-7 home
loss to Denver on Sunday Night. They must get
their passing attack in order if they hope to
match points with the Bengals. Cincinnati is 3-0 after
an emotional win over the Steelers. Remember,
the Steelers were the team that beat them in the
playoffs last year and shattered Carson Palmer’s
knee. So revenge was doubly sweet. Cincinnati
has to avoid a letdown as well as getting overconfident
against a Patriots team that is always dangerous.
                                Week 4 NFL Point
Spread Bengals (-6) 1) Seattle (+3.5) at Chicago
Odds Two 3-0 teams square off
in a Sunday Night clash. Chicago was very lucky
to get a win at Minnesota last week, while Seattle
thumped the Giants at home. This is a classic
match-up of the explosive Seahawks’ offense
against the very aggressive Bears' defense. Unfortunately,
Seattle’s Shaun Alexander will miss this
game and others with a broken foot, which severly
downgrades the Seahawks’ rushing attack. This game is extremely
important to both teams as they could end up with
identical regular season records, and this game
would be the tie-breaker. The Bears would love
to get Seattle in the freezing cold of Chicago
come January, while Seattle is very tough to beat
at home in the playoffs. Week
4 NFL Point Spread Bears (-3.5) For more online betting odds,
