NFL Week 3 Power Ratings - Power Rankings - September
20, 2006
1) Indianapolis
Colts, 2-0 (5:1)
Colts know how to demolish
weak teams, fortunately they play a lot of them.
2) New England Patriots,
2-0 (6:1)
The Patriots seem to always
win the close games, but they are playing with
fire.
3) Seattle Seahawks,
2-0 (13:2)
Seattle’s defense is
ahead of the offense, a rarity for a Mike Holmgren
team.
4) Cincinnati Bengals,
2-0 (8:1)
Linebacker, David Pollack’s
season ending injury is a damper to a great start.
5) Pittsburgh Steelers,
1-1 (14:1)
Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger’s
ongoing health is still a major concern.
6) Chicago Bears, 2-0
(10:1)
The Bears have played as
good as any team in the NFL so far.
7) Atlanta Falcons, 2-0
(25:1)
The Falcons are playing like
a hungry team, and they make another jump up.
8) Baltimore Ravens,
2-0 (15:1)
Ravens’ dominant defense
is finally on speaking terms with its offense.
9) Jacksonville Jaguars,
2-0 (20:1)
The Jaguars will be dangerous
if Byron Leftwich stays healthy all season.
10) New York Giants,
1-1 (14:1)
This week’s game at
Seattle ends a brutal stretch to open the season.
11) Dallas Cowboys, 1-1
(14:1)
The Dallas defense must continue
to play stellar to win ballgames.
12) San Diego Chargers,
2-0 (12:1)
Chargers have played great,
but Oakland and Tennessee were weak competition.
13) Philadelphia Eagles,
1-1 (25:1)
Dramatic overtime loss to
the Giants may haunt this team the rest of the
season.
14) Denver Broncos, 1-1
(20:1)
Quarterback, Jake Plummer
is talking like a man about to be benched.
15) Minnesota Vikings,
2-0 (25:1)
This week’s game against
Chicago will be the true barometer for Minnesota.
16) Carolina Panthers,
0-2 (16:1)
The team will play better
with Steve Smith, but they are running out of
time.
17) Miami Dolphins. 0-2
(50:1)
Quarterback, Daunte Culpepper
is almost single-handily killing their playoff
hopes.
18) Washington Redskins,
0-2 (50:1)
Mark Brunell will continue
to be the quarterback, at least for one more game.
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
0-2 (100:1)
Quarterback, Chris Simms
has a famous last name. Maybe he should change
it.
20) New Orleans Saints,
2-0 (75:1)
A win over Atlanta on MNF
would cap an amazing start to the season.
21) Arizona Cardinals,
1-1 (75:1)
Arizona’s loss at Seattle
was a statement game. The statement was they stunk.
22) Buffalo Bills, 1-1
(75:1)
Buffalo has played well both
weeks, and could easily be 2-0 right now.
23) Kansas City Chiefs,
0-2 (10:1)
The 2006 offense is simply
not what the Kansas City fans are used to seeing.
24) St. Louis Rams, 1-1
(75:1)
Loss at San Francisco was
a major letdown after a home win over Denver.
25) New York Jets, 1-1
(200:1)
Passing game will have to
keep producing to offset woeful running attack.
26) Detroit Lions, 0-2
(300:1)
The Lions have scored 13
points in two games, that won’t get it done.
27) San Francisco 49ers,
1-1 (200:1)
Entertaining offense will
likely make a lot of fantasy football players
happy.
28) Cleveland Browns,
0-2 (300:1)
Gary Baxter injury could
cause both of their cornerbacks to be out.
29) Green Bay Packers,
0-2 (300:1)
Worst team in the NFC is
still better than three of their AFC counterparts.
30) Houston Texans, 0-2
(500:1)
Drafting Mario Williams over
Reggie Bush could be grounds for temporary insanity.
31) Tennessee Titans,
0-2 (1,000:1)
The best thing about Tennessee
is they are slightly less terrible than Oakland.
32) Oakland Raiders,
0-2 (300:1)
The Raiders have been outscored
56-7 in two weeks. That is incredible futility.
