PLAYERS TO START - WEEK 2 CHEATSHEETS
Jake
Plummer, QB, Denver
Plummer threw for only 138
yards last week at St. Louis, and added insult
to injury with three interceptions. With a quarterback
controversy looming right around the corner with
another bad performance, the prediction is that
Plummer lights up a Chiefs’ team demoralized
by the loss of their quarterback, Trent Green.
Cadillac Williams, RB,
Tampa Bay
Fantasy owners of Cadillac
are still stunned by his 22 yard effort against
Baltimore last week, and are wondering if the
“Cadillac” should be downgraded to
a “Yugo”. This week, Williams goes
against a revitalized Falcons’ run defense
that now has tackle, Grady Jackson, but it says
here this is a bounce-back week.
Laveranues Coles, WR,
NY Jets
There may be concern this
week for Coles going against a New England defense
that shut down Buffalo quarterback, J.P. Losman
in the second half last week. The Jets’
Chad Pennington is a much better player than Losman
when healthy, and Coles will find some holes in
the Patriots’ defense.
Randy McMichael, TE,
Miami
McMichael had only one reception
for 10 yards last week at Pittsburgh. There can
be an adjustment period a receiver has with a
new quarterback, but McMichael and Daunte Culpepper
should be fine this week against a Buffalo secondary
that is now missing safety, Troy Vincent.
PLAYER TO BENCH - WEEK 2 CHEATSHEETS
Rex Grossman, QB, Chicago
Grossman had 262 yards passing
and one touchdown last week against Green Bay.
Of course, it was the Packers so it must be taken
with a grain of salt. This week, Grossman goes
against an underrated Lions’ defense that
contained Seattle last week. Look for this to
be a ground control game with less production
out of Rex.
Fred Taylor, RB, Jacksonville
The Pittsburgh run defense
did quite a number on Miami’s Ronnie Brown
last week, and they will try to do it again on
Monday Night Football. The Steelers love to stack
the box with safety, Troy Polamalu, and force
teams to throw on them to win. The call is to
bench Taylor.
Nate Burleson, WR, Seattle
Newly acquired receiver,
Deion Branch is not likely to play this week,
but that does not mean that Burleson is a good
play. Burleson doesn’t seem to be fully
integrated in the offense, and quarterback Matt
Hasselbeck still has three other wide-outs to
choose from in Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram and
D.J. Hackett.
Heath Miller, TE, Pittsburgh
Miller led all tight
ends last week with 101 receiving yards. However,
87 of those were on a blown coverage that went
all the way for a touchdown. With there being
a good chance that quarterback, Charlie Batch
subs in for Ben Roethlisberger again this week,
don’t count on Miller doing it two weeks
in a row.
