fantasy football injuries - December 14, 2006 by: VIP.com Sports Edge details the most
important injuries for NFL Week 15. Let’s
start out with tonight’s game, San Francisco
(+9.5) at Seattle. Seahawks’ wide receiver,
Darrell Jackson will not play due to a toe injury,
and receiver Bobby Engram is also questionable. Fortunately, Seattle has
one of the deepest wide receiver units in the
NFL with Deion Branch, Nate Burleson, and D.J.
Hackett occupying the top three receiver spots. In the Saturday night game,
Atlanta has a tough opponent in Dallas, and they
may be without running backs Warrick Dunn and
Jerious Norwood, both listed as questionable.
There is even a rumor that Michael Vick may take
some snaps at tailback, but don’t count
on it. The Falcons are three point home underdogs. The Patriots are hurting
with injuries to defensive tackle, Vince Wilfork
and tight end, Ben Watson. Both are questionable,
but that seems optimistic. Running back, Laurence
Maroney is also questionable, and the team released
wide receiver Doug Gabriel earlier this week. It is hard to imagine the
Patriots having a potent offense against Houston,
but they are still 11 point favorites at home. Two starting running backs
are in question for the Jacksonville and Tennessee
game. The Jaguars’ Fred Taylor is listed
as probable with a hamstring injury, while the
Titans’ Travis Henry is questionable with
a sprained ankle. Jacksonville is favored by 3.5
points on the road. Carolina quarterback, Jake
Delhomme is listed as questionable this week against
Pittsburgh with a sprained right thumb. Delhomme
did not play last week in the Panthers’
loss to the Giants, and backup Chris Weinke may
get the ball again. For Pittsburgh, receiver
Hines Ward should play after being listed as probable,
but safety Troy Polamalu is still listed as doubtful.
There is currently no line on Carolina’s
game against Pittsburgh. Minnesota running back, Chester
Taylor is listed as questionable with a rib injury.
It looks like he may give it a go, but how effective
he will be is another story. The Vikings are three
point home favorites over the Jets on Sunday.
