Sports Edge details the most
important injuries for NFL Week 14. There is another
Thursday night game tonight with Pittsburgh (-7)
hosting Cleveland. Browns quarterback, Charlie
Frye is currently questionable for the game with
a sprained right wrist.
If Frye can not play, then
Derek Anderson will start. Anderson is a second
year player out of Oregon State, and he played
surprisingly well coming off the bench in last
week’s win over Kansas City. This will be
Anderson’s first career start if Frye can’t
go.
Pittsburgh is dealing with
injury problems of their own as receiver Hines
Ward and safety Troy Polamalu are both out again
this week.
Running back, Ronnie Brown
is out for Miami this week against New England.
The Dolphins are out of the playoff chase, but
they always seem to play hard against New England,
especially in South Florida. The Patriots are
currently 3.5 point favorites on the road.
Minnesota running back, Chester
Taylor is listed as doubtful this week with an
injury to his ribs. Ciatrick Fason looked good
as Taylor’s replacement last week, and he
will be the featured runner this week if Taylor
is out. The Vikings are a surprising 1.5 point
underdog on the road this week in Detroit.
It is rare that a kicker
makes this list, but Denver’s Jason Elam
has a strain in his hamstring and he is questionable
this week. Linebacker, Al Wilson appears very
fortunate after spraining his neck last week,
and he looks to play this week at San Diego even
though he is listed as questionable. San Diego
is favored by 7.5 points.
Carolina quarterback, Jake
Delhomme is listed as questionable this week with
a sprained right thumb. Backup, Chris Weinke will
get the start if Delhomme can not go. One piece
of good news is that running back, DeShaun Foster
is now probable with an elbow injury.
The Giants’ injury
situation is slowing improving, but defensive
end, Michael Strahan is still listed as doubtful
and cornerback Corey Webster is questionable.
The Giants are three point underdogs at Carolina
this week.
