NFL
fantasy football Injuries - November 09, 2006
by: VIP.com
Sports Edge details the most
important injuries for NFL Week Ten. There are
a lot of key injuries this week so let’s
get right to it. We start in Seattle where All-Pro
running back Shaun Alexander is expected to miss
his sixth straight game with a broken foot.
With quarterback Matt Hasselbeck
also likely out of this game, the 3.5 point spread
that Seattle is giving to St. Louis is looking
more and more ominous.
A player who will definitely
not play this week is New England’s Rodney
Harrison. Harrison is out indefinitely with a
broken scapula. With fellow safety, Eugene Wilson
also questionable this week against the Jets,
the Patriots banged up secondary could be vulnerable
against quarterback, Chad Pennington.
The Patriots are still 10.5
point home favorites over the NY Jets.
Another player who is out
this week is running back, Willis McGahee. Anthony
Thomas is a north-south runner and a capable backup,
but the Bills will miss the running threat of
McGahee as a 12 point road dog at Indy.
The Giants host Chicago as
one point favorites on Sunday night, but they
are really banged up on the defensive side of
the ball. Defensive end Michael Strahan is out,
and defensive end Osi Umenyiora is doubtful.
Giants' defensive end Justin
Tuck is questionable and linebackers Carlos Emmons
and Brandon Short are questionable. If things
weren’t bad enough for the Giants, wide
receiver Amani Toomer is out for the year with
a partially torn ACL.
The news is better for the
Bears as Brian Urlacher is questionable with a
toe injury. There is a good chance he plays in
this game after it looked like he may be sidelined
for some time.
The hamstring of Washington
wide receiver, Santana Moss is improved, but he
is still questionable this week in Philadelphia.
The Redskins are seven point underdogs.
Baltimore defensive stalwarts,
Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, are both questionable this
week at Tennessee. Neither player practiced yesterday,
but the Baltimore Sun expects both of them to
play on Sunday. The Ravens are favored by seven
points.
