                                SU, 5-2 ATS), 1st in AFC South. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 9 to 2June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 6 to 1
 Why they will: Peyton Manning is the most talented 
                                quarterback in the NFL, the smartest signal-caller, 
                                and has plenty of motivation.
 Why they won't: Peyton Manning just can't win 
                                the big one.
 New England Patriots 
                                (6-1 SU, 5-2 ATS), 1st in AFC East. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 11 to 2June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 7 to 1
 Why they will: Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have 
                                been there, done that. Experience counts.
 Why they won't: Adam Vinatieri is no longer around 
                                to bail them out on a bad day.
 San Diego Chargers (5-2 
                                SU, 5-2 ATS), tied for 1st in AFC West. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 10 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 22 to 1
 Why they will: Philip Rivers is the real deal, 
                                and LaDainian Tomlinson is simply unstoppable.
 Why they won't: Marty Schottenheimer is so conservative 
                                on offense, he punts on third down.
 Baltimore Ravens (5-2 
                                SU, 4-3 ATS), 1st in AFC North. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 10 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 40 to 1
 Why they will: Steve McNair gives them confident, 
                                veteran leadership, and Ray Lewis still rocks.
 Why they won't: Steve McNair last played 16 games 
                                in a season back in 2002, and Ray Lewis still 
                                has a screw loose.
 New York Giants (5-2 
                                SU, 5-2 ATS), 1st in NFC East. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 12 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 16 to 1
 Why they will: Tiki Barber goes out on top, and 
                                Eli Manning shows up his big brother by winning 
                                when the chips are down.
 Why they won't: Eli has the same no-title gene 
                                as Archie and Peyton.
 Atlanta Falcons (5-2 
                                SU, 5-2 ATS), tied for 1st in NFC South. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 25 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 35 to 1
 Why they will: Michael Vick blossoms into a complete 
                                quarterback, and heats up down the stretch.
 Why they won't: Michael Vick suffers an injury.
 New Orleans Saints (5-2 
                                SU, 5-2 ATS), tied for 1st in NFC South. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 35 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 40 to 1
 Why they will: Drew Brees, Deuce McAllister and 
                                Reggie Bush combine to generate 30 points a game.
 Why they won't: Archie Manning phones Sean Payton 
                                and says, "hey coach, you're the New Orleans 
                                Saints!"
 Slow Climb Down Cincinnati Bengals (4-3 
                                SU, 3-3-1 ATS), 2nd in AFC North. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 20 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 18 to 1
 Why they won't: Any arrested players are sentenced 
                                to three months hunting down Taliban warriors 
                                in Afghanistan.
 Why they will: Carson Palmer gets bionic knee 
                                and starts referring to Chad Johnson as "my 
                                darling Jaime Sommers".
 Seattle Seahawks (4-3 
                                SU, 2-5 ATS), tied for 1st in NFC West. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 22 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 10 to 1
 Why they won't: Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander 
                                enjoy attentive nurses so much, they volunteer

 Why they will: Mike Holmgren trades for Brett 
                                Favre and renames club Seattle When We Were Packers.
 Dallas Cowboys (4-3 SU,

 Why they won't: Terrell Owens tells Tony Romo, 
                                "throw me the ball, bee-yatch."
 Why they will: Mike Vanderjagt accidentally kicks 
                                the Tuna through the uprights from 63 yards to 
                                win NFC Championship Game.
 Carolina Panthers (4-4 
                                SU, 2-5-1 ATS), 3rd in NFC South. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 25 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 14 to 1
 Why they won't: Jake Delhomme wakes up one morning 
                                and realizes, well, he's Jake Delhomme.
 Why they will: Julius Peppers makes 6800 tackles 
                                in two months, and Steve Smith perfects end-around 
                                run for three touchdowns per game.
 Philadelphia Eagles (4-4 
                                SU, 4-4 ATS), 3rd in NFC East. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 35 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 18 to 1
 Why they won't: Mike Reid is fired during mid-season 
                                slump, and replaced by Bob Clarke.
 Why they will: Donovan McNabb hands the ball off 
                                to himself, throws the ball to himself, and joins 
                                special teams as return specialist.
 Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5 
                                SU, 2-5 ATS), tied for 3rd in AFC North. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 40 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 12 to 1
 Why they won't: Bill Cowher brings out last year's 
                                Super Bowl rings and starts to cry.
 Why they will: Ben Roethlisberger gets bionic 
                                head and replacement appendix is finally found.
 Washington Redskins (2-5 
                                SU, 2-5 ATS), 4th in NFC East. Current odds to win Super 
                                Bowl: 200 to 1June 2006 odds to win Super Bowl: 16 to 1
 Why they won't: Mark Brunell and Joe Gibbs begin 
                                investigating cryogenics.
 Why they will: Santana Moss and Clinton Portis 
                                convince Joe Theismann to get John Riggins, Art 
                                Monk and the Hogs back into game-shape.
 And what about the Denver 
                                Broncos, you ask? Well, Mike Shanahan has already 
                                1) quelled a brewing quarterback controversy, 
                                2) constructed a punishing defense, 3) installed 
                                twin rushing threats both named Bell, and 4) found 
                                a go-to receiver for Jake Plummer in Javon Walker. All that in half a season, 
                                and they're only a last-second field goal behind 
                                the Colts right now. Denver was at 15 to 1 back 
                                in June, and they're exactly the same at 15 to 
                                1 today. Time to sit up and take notice. For
