| Super Bowl xli Odds - October 11, 2006 They
are also one of only two unbeaten teams left in
the league, and they’ve scored 156 points
while allowing just 36. And the oddsmakers have taken
notice of Chicago’s strong play –
their odds to win the Super Bowl are now sitting
at a league-best 15/4. With much of the competition
in the NFC underwhelming (especially with the
Carolina Panthers off to a slow start), watch
for the Bears’ odds to stay fairly steady
over the next few weeks unless they hit a big
                                slump. Here’s a look at
everyone’s current Super Bowl xli odds,
from the top teams to the stinkers: Chicago - 15/4Indianapolis - 7/1
 Cincinnati - 8/1
 Carolina - 10/1
 New England - 10/1
 Seattle - 10/1
The Bears lead the list of
elite teams, with the Colts and Bengals now both
                                a step behind. Indianapolis’ reputation
as a choker always hurts their Super Bowl odds,
and until they actually win the big game their
championship chances are going to be viewed with
a degree of skepticism. Carolina is only off to a
3-2 start to the season after being pegged as
a top Super Bowl contender in the offseason, but
they have won three straight games. New England
should have an easy time winning the AFC East
this year, while the Seahawks were pounded by
the Bears already but still look like a solid
                                team. San Diego - 12/1Baltimore - 14/1
 Denver - 17/1
 Philadelphia - 18/1
Two teams from the AFC West
division, the Chargers and the Broncos, sit in
this second tier of contenders, while the Ravens
(who lost for the first time on Monday night)
have moved up the list to this point. Whether
or not Baltimore’s offense can keep them
amongst the league’s top teams remains to
be seen though. The Eagles moved two games up
for first in the NFC East with their win over
                                T.O. and the Cowboys on Sunday. Dallas - 20/1Jacksonville - 20/1
 Atlanta - 25/1
 NY Giants - 25/1
 New Orleans - 35/1
 A win on Sunday would’ve
helped the Cowboys’ Super Bowl odds, but
now they’re merely back in this mid-tier
pack along with another NFC East team, the Giants.
The Jaguars’ chances are always hurt because
of the division they play in – it looks
like they’ll finish behind the Colts once
again, and at best go into the playoffs as a Wild
Card team. The Saints’ odds have greatly
improved since the season began, but no one is
completely sold on them yet. The Falcons are up
a bit too, but the NFC South is tough. Pittsburgh - 50/1St. Louis - 50/1
 Kansas City - 60/1
 Minnesota - 60/1
 Washington - 60/1
A poor start to the season
has the Steelers’ chances of repeating as
Super Bowl champs listed way down at 50/1. Pittsburgh
is already trailing both Baltimore and Cincinnati
in the AFC North, and they need to turn it around
quickly to regain contender status. St. Louis’ odds should
start improving if they can defeat the rival Seahawks
this weekend, while Kansas City, Minnesota, and
                                Washington haven’t been anything special
so far in 2006; each will need to string together
some wins to have bettors take notice. Buffalo - 300/1Miami - 300/1
 NY Jets - 300/1
 Arizona - 400/1
 Houston - 600/1
 San Francisco - 600/1
 AFC East teams Miami, Buffalo,
and the New York Jets aren’t looking like
they’re going to be threats to the Pats this
                                season, with the Dolphins being particularly disappointing;
they were widely viewed as a dark horse team.
Miami needs to win three straight games just to
get back to the .500 mark. Houston isn’t long
for this list, although they have actually won
a game already this season. And Arizona and San
Francisco both look like they’ll finish
well back of the Seahawks and the Rams in the
NFC West this season. Cleveland - OffDetroit - Off
 Green Bay - Off
 Oakland - Off
 Tampa Bay - Off
 Tennessee - Off
 The Lions, Titans, Buccaneers,
and Raiders are all still winless after five weeks
of play, while the Browns and Packers have each
tasted victory just once (Cleveland beat Oakland,
Green Bay beat Detroit). Each team doesn’t
have much to play for the rest of the way. For all NFC South betting
