BODOG
PRESS RELEASES
For Immediate
Release -- January 13th, 2006
This weekend's NFL Divisional
Playoffs feature a rarity: four rematches of
regular-season clashes. Bodog.com has posted
the odds.
"These teams have seen each
other before. We can expect four hard-fought
games and probably more animosity than usual,"
says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com.
"Stakes are high as we enter into the divisional
round, and many factors should be considered
before you decide which teams to bet on."
On Saturday, the NFC champion
Seahawks and wild-card Washington Redskins meet
at Qwest Field in Seattle to square off in the
NFC. The last time these two teams faced off,
Washington prevailed at home, winning 20-17
in Week 4.
Coach Joe Gibbs and the Redskins
showed off their aggressive defense last week
when they knocked out NFC South champion Tampa
Bay. Against the Seahawks, the Redskins will
need to step up their offense, especially after
gaining only 120 yards against the Bucs. Can
the Redskins stop MVP running back Shaun Alexander
in his tracks? Seahawks have opened as 9.5-point
favorites.
The New England Patriots, looking
to defend their Super Bowl crown, head to Mile
High for the second time this season to take
on the Denver Broncos, who defeated Bill Belichick's
squad 28-20 in Week 6.
The Broncos had the premier rushing
offense in the league during the regular season,
and have beaten the Pats in three of the last
four meetings. Still, New England is a hot team
and won't easily surrender its bid for a Super
Bowl three-peat. Denver has opened as 3-point
favorites for the Saturday contest in the AFC.
With their eyes set on the AFC
championships, quarterback Peyton Manning and
the Indianapolis Colts welcome the Pittsburgh
Steelers to the RCA Dome on Sunday afternoon.
Despite coming off an impressive five-game winning
streak, the Steelers are underdogs against a
Colts team that dominated the league throughout
the regular season. The Colts opened as 9.5-point
favorites against the team they throttled 26-7
in Week 12.
After securing a momentous 23-0
NFC wild-card victory over the New York Giants
last weekend, the Carolina Panthers travel to
Soldier Field to take on the Bears. In a Week
11 meeting, Chicago defeated the Panthers 13-3
and ended their six-game winning streak. The
betting line has opened with the Bears as 3-point
favorites.
