NFL Week 9 Fantasy Football Tips

This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. The WagerOnFootball.com staff will scour the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best available talent every week. Availability, of course, depends on the league. We’re using 12 team, 15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes and sizes. Grab the following before NFL Week 9.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our cheatsheets, a who's hot, and who's not report plus more in our fantasy football guide. Without wasting any more of your time, here is the Week 9 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickup List, for the NFL games going on this week (Week 9). Good Luck!!!

Week 9 Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent QB's To Consider For Week 9
Player - Position Team/Position/Why Pick Him Up?
J.P. Losman Bills - Trent Edwards' wrist injury opened the door for Losman to step in and play the hero in Week 8, so he'll get another chance to stake a claim for the starting quarterback gig against the struggling Cincy defense on Sunday.
Sage Rosenfals Texans - With Matt Schaub (concussion) not expected to play, Rosenfels is in line to get the start at QB for the Texans Sunday against the Raiders

Week 9 Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent RB's To Consider For Week 9
Player - Position Team/Position/Why Pick Him Up?
Ryan Grant Packers - The Green Bay running back spot will be in flux all season, so don't get too excited about picking him up this week.
Chris Henry Titans - Judging by how good he has looked the past two weeks, one could make the case that he, not Chris Brown, makes the better handcuff for LenDale White owners.
Adimchinobe Echemandu Texans- With Ahman Green (knee) limited, Echemandu is the alternative running back to Ron Dayne.
Michael Robinson 49ers - Could get some points for you if Gore gets hurt, which seems to be an every week occurrence.

Week 9 Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent WR's To Consider For Week 9
Player - Position Team/Position/Why Pick Him Up?
Reggie Brown Eagles - Brown is finally emerging as a decent Fantasy WR option after spending weeks on benches throughout the Fantasy world. Has caught 17 balls for 236 yards and a touchdown in his last three games.
Brandon Stokley Broncos - Broncos WR Brandon Stokley caught five passes for 71 yards Week 8 against the Packers. Take a good, long look at him if you need help at the position.
Arnaz Battle 49ers - Niners WR Arnaz Battle will play at Atlanta in Week 9 and face off against the Falcons' 20th-ranked pass defense.
David Patten Saints - He definitely has some value as a bye-week replacement when the Saints host the Jaguars in Week 10.
Chris Henry Bengals - Owners with a need at receiver should seriously consider picking him up if he is available; he could put up some big games over the season's final months.

Week 9 Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent TE's To Consider For Week 9
Player - Position Team/Position/Why Pick Him Up?
Jeff King Panthers - Carolina TE Jeff King had 10 catches for 82 yards Sunday against the Colts. King is a definate No. 2 Fantasy TE
Vernon Davis 49ers - If you own him, think of him as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE worth a look if you don't have a better option available.

Week 9 Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent Defense/Special Teams To Consider For Week 9
Player - Position Team/Position/Why Pick Them Up?
Bucs DST Buccaneers Defense - In Week 8 the Bucs came into the game with one of the best defenses in the NFL and did a nice job against Jacksonville.
Redskins DST Redskins Defense - Averaging 10 fantasy points per game in the last 3 weeks, you could do a lot worse than this unit...
